Gustavo Pereira has taken on a newly-created role within Marriott as cluster director of market strategy, overseeing nine Wasl owned hotel properties. This portfolio encompasses three beachfront resort hotels, including W Dubai - Mina Seyahi, Le Meridien Mina Seyahi Beach Resort and Waterpark, and Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort and Marina that sit together on the Destination Mina Seyahi Resort.
Pereira has close to 12 years' hospitality experience driving strategic development, business planning and stakeholder/owner management. He is committed to covering all aspects of the business including demand, supply, forecasting, inventory management and opportunity analysis. With his acquired knowledge and experience, Pereira has gained the ability to evaluate industry trends and execute pricing and yielding techniques, thereby contributing to a major rise in the total revenue of his properties.
In 2007, he started as an assistant front office manager in InterContinental Maracaibo and went on to become the reservation manager in 2009. Further on, he became the cluster reservations manager at IHG Hotels & Resorts in 2010 and then progressed to become the cluster area revenue strategy manager in 2011. Following that, he became the revenue manger in 2015, being this his first post in Dubai. In 2017, he became the director of revenue management at Sheraton Grand Hotel, Dubai and moved to his role as complex director of revenue at Le Meridien Dubai Hotel & Conference Centre, overseeing six properties, before taking on his new role as cluster director of market strategy.
