Tom Roelens has been promoted to Managing Director at Atlantis The Royal
Tom Roelens, previously the Senior Vice President and General Manager, has been promoted to Managing Director of Atlantis The Royal resort in Dubai. Roelens, who joined the resort in January 2020, has been instrumental in managing its operations, including 795 guestrooms, 231 private residences, and 17 restaurants. He was a key figure in the resort's grand opening, highlighted by a private concert by Beyonce.
Before his tenure at Atlantis The Royal, Roelens gained over 20 years of experience with Four Seasons. His promotion coincides with Atlantis Dubai's strategic shift towards global expansion and leadership restructuring. In a related move, Timothy Kelly was appointed President of Atlantis Global in October, signaling the group's intent to develop more hotels worldwide. Kelly now oversees operations at Atlantis Dubai, Sanya, and leads the global expansion of the Atlantis brand, including both Atlantis The Palm and Royal, as well as the hotel in China.
In May, Kelly expressed plans to Bloomberg for expanding the Atlantis brand, with aspirations to open up to four more hotels globally, focusing on regions like Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and North America. He mentioned the group's intention to finalize some deals within the year.
Tom Roelens is an alumnus of Cornell | Executive and Professional Education – Class of 2011.
