Marriott International's Sandeep Walia has expanded his role, adding responsibility for the group's Luxury portfolio in Europe, Middle East and Africa to his remit.
His new job title is chief operating officer, MIddle East & Luxury, Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Since assuming his role as COO for Marriott International in the Middle East in 2021, Walia has overseen operations for over 230 hotels with more than 110 properties in development across 12 countries. His 25 years of international hospitality experience have been instrumental in achieving operational excellence, financial growth, and establishing strategic partnerships.
Walia's leadership style prioritises teamwork and collaboration, fostering high performance aligned with corporate values. His strategic insights, informed by global market trends and consumer preferences, guide Marriott's growth initiatives and operational strategies.
Walia's tenure has also emphasised Marriott's people-centric culture, evident in initiatives like the Tahseen program in Saudi Arabia and the inaugural graduation of the Bachelor of Hotel Operations Management class in Egypt.
