Yousuf Al Rahbi has been appointed as General Manager at Crowne Plaza Duqm
IHG Hotels & Resorts has appointed Yousuf Al Rahbi as general manager of Crowne Plaza Duqm, marking a first for the company in Oman. Al Rahbi is the first Omani national to step into a GM role for IHG in the Sultanate, reflecting both the group's commitment to developing local leadership and Oman's rising influence in the region's hospitality industry.
Al Rahbi's appointment is the result of a ten-year journey with IHG, underpinned by the company's Journey to General Manager programme — a leadership development pathway designed to prepare high-potential talent for senior roles. His career with the group began in 2015 as director of human resources at InterContinental Muscat, before being promoted to area director of HR for Oman. He later transitioned into hotel operations, becoming hotel manager at InterContinental Muscat and earlier this year was seconded to Crowne Plaza Duqm as part of a task force, where he demonstrated strong operational leadership.
Beyond IHG, Al Rahbi is also an alumnus of Omran Group's Lift Program, a national initiative to empower Omani talent in tourism and hospitality. As part of its inaugural cohort, he has continued to inspire and mentor emerging professionals across the sector.
