José Silva has been appointed as Chairman at Maybourne Hotel Group
Maybourne, operator of some of the world’s most storied and extraordinary hotels, is delighted to welcome José Silva as Chairman. Widely regarded as one of luxury hospitality’s most accomplished leaders, Silva has been appointed to help lead Maybourne’s next phase of global growth while preserving the exceptional standards of service, design and guest experience that define its hotels.
With more than four decades of industry experience spanning Europe, North America and the Middle East, Silva has built a distinguished career leading some of the world’s most prestigious hospitality brands. Silva joins Maybourne following a highly successful tenure as Chief Executive Officer of Jumeirah Group, where he led the transformation of the brand from a regional leader into a prestigious global luxury brand.
Prior to Jumeirah, Silva spent almost 25 years with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, holding a series of senior leadership positions across the organisation. Amongst his many achievements, he served as General Manager of the Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris, where the hotel’s restaurants collectively achieved five Michelin stars, cementing its reputation as one of the world’s leading luxury hospitality destinations. He later served as Regional Vice President for Europe, where he oversaw a portfolio that included France, Switzerland, Spain and Portugal, leading strategic planning, operational performance, executive development and ownership relations. During this time, he was also named Virtuoso’s Hotelier of the Year.
Throughout his career, Silva has built a reputation for elevating luxury assets, leading transformational brand positioning and strategic expansion, developing exceptional leadership teams, and creating long-term value through a steadfast focus on product and guest experience. His expertise will be invaluable as Maybourne applies more than 200 years of hospitality heritage to new hotels, residences, experiences and wellness spaces in the near future.
