David Litman brings more than 18 years of travel-related experience and marketing and management expertise to his role as Co-founder and CEO of hotels.com ROOM, a USA Company USAI. Dave is instrumental in the Company's online success—hotels.com is the Internet's primary source of discount accommodations worldwide and is the country's leading hotel consolidator—as he oversees the Company's strategic direction and its internet and call center operations.
Dave has spearheaded the Company's growth both on the Internet with unique Internet marketing programs and the development and maintenance of its award-winning state-of-the-art web sites, as well as its 400-person call center with its sophisticated, multi-million dollar automation systems.
Prior to co-founding hotels.com in 1991 with Cornell Law School friend Robert Diener, Dave worked for the Dallas law firm of Johnson and Swanson. Wanting to fulfill his entrepreneurial spirit he seized upon the opportunities the discount airline business had to offer and began his travel industry career in 1984 with what became a multi-million dollar wholesale airfare consolidation operation. Six years later, Dave and Bob saw the untapped potential in the hotel industry for wholesale brokers and the two founded hotels.com.
Today, hotels.com is the country's leading hotel consolidator service and its Internet operations, which premiered in 1995, are among the most successful on the worldwide web. hotels.com offers the best prices at the best places, guaranteed, at more than 5,000 properties in more than 190 metropolitan cities in the U.S., Canada and Western Europe. Its online business has grown exponentially—95 percent of HRN's revenues are now generated online and its current annualized growth rate for 1997 through 2001 is 98 percent.
