The GSTC Global Sustainable Tourism Conference is the annual flagship event of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council, bringing together destinations, hotel groups, tour operators, certification bodies, NGOs, academia and policy makers to advance sustainable tourism worldwide. Rotating between leading destinations, the conference offers a mix of plenary sessions, case-study panels, hands-on training, and side events such as the GSTC Sustainable Tourism Training and an academic symposium, all built around the GSTC Criteria and real-world best practices.  In an intimate, highly international setting, participants exchange practical tools on topics such as climate resilience, community engagement, nature conservation and market access, leaving with concrete ideas, partnerships and inspiration to accelerate sustainability in their own organisations and destinations.

The Global Sustainable Tourism Council® (GSTC) establishes and manages global standards for sustainable travel and tourism, known as the GSTC Criteria. There are two sets: Destination Criteria for public policy-makers and destination managers, and Industry Criteria for hotels and tour operators. They are the result of a worldwide effort to develop a common language about sustainability in tourism.
