Internet Travel Network and Worldview Systems Announce Partnership to Combine Content and Reservations

PALO ALTO, Calif. / Internet Travel Network (ITN), a leading provider of online travel reservation services, and Worldview Systems Corporation, a leading publisher of online and interactive destination information, today announced a partnership to combine travel content and reservations technology on the ITN Web site.

ITN's 1.5 million registered users now have access to Worldview's up-to-the-minute travel and entertainment destination information for more than 22,000 destinations worldwide. Users can browse and search an extensive calendar-of-events database for over 200 cities and regions, view travel information and reviews while planning trips, download online maps, photos, videos and retrieve extensive practical information all online.

"We wanted to supply our users with the best online travel content available and Worldview Systems provides that with extensive and timely information that is easy to navigate," said ITN CEO Ken Swanton.

"ITN's goal is to utilize the Internet to make travel planning as simple and effective as possible for the leisure and business travel consumer. To help achieve this, we're offering our users the most extensive database of travel and destination information available to them combined with our easy to use reservation system."

"This partnership with ITN opens the door for Worldview to a large constituency of travelers that want to independently research destination information and build their own itineraries online while enjoying the support and customer service offered through a network of local travel agencies," said Neal Checkoway, president and chief executive officer of Worldview Systems Corporation.

"ITN has successfully bridged the gap between the online do-it-yourself traveler and the travel agent."

Both Worldview Systems and ITN are pioneers in the electronic travel marketplace. Worldview Systems was an early supplier of time-sensitive destination information to the travel trade industry. Worldview has been offering custom published travel guides direct-to-consumers for several years and Worldview also co-created Travelocity, a leading Internet-based travel site, which was launched in March 1996.

ITN is a pioneer in Internet reservations technology, and became the first Internet travel service to provide reservation services on multiple computer reservations systems (CRSs). ITN was also the first Web service to integrate an air, car and hotel booking capability for consumers.
