Everest Broadband Networks Selects Portal Software to Provide Customers Integrated Billing
Portal's Infranet Provides Rapid Time to Market and Flexibility for Building-Specific Broadband Services Provider
CUPERTINO, Calif. / May 30, 2000-- Portal Software, Inc. PRSF, a leading provider of business infrastructure software for Internet and next-generation communications services, today announced that Everest Broadband Networks has selected Portal's comprehensive real-time customer management and billing software to support its expanding range of advanced technology services including high-speed Internet access and broadband applications.
Everest Broadband Networks provides advanced telecommunications services -- primarily high-speed Internet, Internet applications, and voice and video services -- to occupants of business and residential multi-tenant buildings and to hotel properties. Portal's Infranet customer management and billing solution will enable Everest to develop new business models and pricing plans faster and easier than before to meet its customers' current and future broadband needs.
"We chose Portal as our business infrastructure because of the feature-rich functionality and scalability built into the system," said Hamid Modarressi, vice president network operations for Everest Broadband Networks. "In addition, customer satisfaction is a key concern to us and providing an integrated customizable bill is another way in which we add value to our high-speed Internet access and application services. Infranet saves our customers time, and we believe that gives us an important advantage over the competition."
Infranet provides Everest with several other key competitive advantages -- including rapid time to market for new services and flexible billing plan options -- combined with the scalability required for a fast-growing Internet service business. The Infranet solution is completely customizable and offers customers like Everest the ability to develop sophisticated pricing models, including usage-based billing or bundled services.
"There is a huge demand for broadband services in multi-tenant buildings and hotels, and Everest offers customers in these markets an excellent overall broadband experience by providing leading edge data, video and voice services," said Steve Sommer, vice president, business development at Portal. "Portal's business infrastructure will give Everest the flexibility to develop new applications and services uninhibited by billing system constraints."
