WHITE PLAINS, NY -- The International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show (IH/M&RS) has announced the names of three new members to the Board of Directors. Roger A. Saunders, Gene Rupnik and Xavier S. Lividini have been named to serve on the nine-member Board.

Saunders, founder and managing partner for the Saunders Hotel Group of Boston, will represent the American Hotel & Motel Association (AH&MA) and will replace Richard Nelson, vice president of Emeritus Hyatt Hotels & Resorts. Saunders held the position of national chairman and president of AH&MA in 1990 and 1991 and has served as the trustee and chairman of the Investment Committee for the American Hotel Foundation (AHF). The Saunders Group, which operates The Lenox Hotel, The Comfort Inn & Suites and The Copley Square Hotel in Boston, has owned and operated hotel properties in New England since 1939.

Rupnik, president of Rupnik Hospitality Management, owner of the Days Inn of Springfield, IL and past president of AH&MA, will also represent the AH&MA. He replaces Michael Peceri, president of Marquis Consulting. In addition to his years of involvement with AH&MA, Rupnik has served on the boards and held office in the Illinois Hotel/Motel Association, Springfield Hotel/Motel Association, the Springfield Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce.

Lividini, general manager for The Mayflower Hotel in New York City, will represent the Hotel Association of New York City (HANYC) and will replace Alan Rose, vice president of sales and development for Loews Hotels.

Lividini was elected chair of HANYC in 1997 and brings with him more than 35 years of sales and management experience. Prior to joining The Mayflower, Lividini served in a number of management roles with Hilton Hotels Corporation.

Additional Board members for the 2000 IH/M&RS include: Chairman Robert A. Holt of Best Western Inns & Suites; Secretary Daniel C. Murphy of the New York State Hospitality & Tourism Association; Treasurer Joseph E. Spinnato of the Hotel Association of New York City; William P. Fisher of the American Hotel & Motel Association; Fred J. England of Roger Smith Hotels Corp.; and Michael Hollander of the Long Island Convention & Visitors Bureau.

The 85th International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show will be held November

11 - 14, 2000, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City. The Show is sponsored by the New York State Hospitality & Tourism Association, the Hotel Association of New York City, and the American Hotel & Motel Association and is managed by George Little Management, Inc (GLM). IH/M&RS will feature more than 1,800 hospitality industry suppliers and attracts approximately 58,000 in total trade attendance.
