Snider Capital 'Lands on the Green' with 5.1 million USD Investment in Hospitality Solutions International, Inc.

Company to evolve software into e-commerce play for country clubs, hotels and restaurants

Ardmore, Pa.—(July 18, 2000)—Continuing with its focus on the sports, recreation and leisure sector, Snider Capital L.P. announces its investment of $5.1 million in Hospitality Solutions International, Inc. (HSI), its largest investment to date.

HSI is the parent company of ClubSystems Group, Inc. (CSG), the nation's largest provider of technology solutions for the private country club marketplace. HSI is also a leading supplier of software management systems for the restaurant and hotel industries. Snider Capital L.P. also holds an option to invest an additional $4.9 million in the company within 60 days.

"We've evaluated a number of deals that would give us an entrée into e-commerce for the golf marketplace. CSG is clearly the most viable opportunity," says Jay Snider, president of Snider Capital L.P. "CSG is by far the industry leader and maintains more than 40 percent of the market, with 2,500 country clubs using its software management system. This infrastructure makes CSG well poised to introduce e-commerce solutions in a meaningful way in response to growing demand. HSI is also very diversified, with a strong presence in the hospitality and restaurant markets," he said. The restaurant division maintains such prominent clients as Applebee's, California Pizza Kitchen, Rainforest Cafe and Sizzler.

HSI's goal is to grow its divisions through an application service provider (ASP) model and leverage off its existing client base. It plans to aggressively market the new version of its products to existing clients as well as become a dominant player in the software business with all of its divisions.

HSI's club division's current offerings include a complete portfolio of Windows-based products named ClubConnect™, featuring membership management, pro-shop/retail POS systems, banquet and catering, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll services.

Eric Blum, CEO of Hospitality Solutions International, explains, "More of our customers' club members are asking for e-commerce services such as making reservations, paying bills online, even tracking their golf handicaps. We will focus this funding on satisfying our customers' needs. We are also eager to leverage Snider Capital's management expertise in sports recreation to further evolve our business model."
