Networld + Interop Spring 2001, Booth 5315 ) May 8, 2001---Mitel Networks, a leading edge provider of next-generation IP communications solutions focused on voice, video, and data convergence for broadband networks, is unveiling three revolutionary IP solutions today; March Networks 3100 Integrated Communications Platform (ICP); March Networks 3300 Integrated Communications Platform (ICP); and March Networks 6530 speech-enabled unified messaging for Microsoft Exchange 2000. In addition, Mitel will demonstrate its IP-based mobility solutions, and a series of innovative desktop devices and productivity solutions.
On May 4, 2001, Mitel Networks and March Networks entered into a trademark licensing agreement permitting Mitel Networks to use the March Networks brand in the new VoIP naming strategy. The name change is the next step in a process of better aligning the two company's product portfolios.
Integrated Communications Platforms
March Networks 3100 ICP is an all-in-one complete voice communications system, Local Area Network (LAN) and Web-access solution for small business and branch offices.
"The feedback from testing the product in North America, Europe and the Far East has been tremendous," said Paul Butcher, Chief Operating Officer, Mitel Networks. "The 3100 will be the benchmark by which other solutions in this market segment will be measured."
March Networks 3100 ICP includes a fully featured hybrid key system, integrated auto-attendant, voicemail, router and power sensitive hub, IP-based telephony, and innovative management tools and applications. Through tight integration with Microsoft Outlook and productivity devices, such as the PDA, March Networks 3100 is designed to reduce business costs and improve productivity and efficiency.
March Networks 3300 Integrated Communications Platform (ICP) will provide the ultimate in feature-rich reliable and scalable voice-over-IP communications for the medium-to-large enterprise. Uncompromising in its voice features, March Networks 3300 ICP supports such embedded features as voicemail and auto-attendant, automatic call distribution, enhanced networking and desktop management, and full support for IP wired and wireless telephone sets and devices.
IP Appliances and Peripherals
March Networks 5140 IP Appliance is the first in a series of high-end next-generation network appliances from Mitel. Incorporating such features as integrated Web browsing and enhanced directory management, March Networks IP Appliances will provide enterprise users with instant access to real-time information.
IP peripherals are further enhanced with the introduction of March Networks 5305 IP Conference Unit. Using acoustic beamforming technology March Networks IP conference units deliver superior voice-conferencing capabilities to the IP desktop.
Unified Messaging Solutions
March Networks 6530 is the first speech-enabled unified messaging solution that allows users to access, review, manage, and respond to voicemail, e-mail, and fax messages in their Microsoft Exchange 2000 Inbox using their voice.
"Highly mobile, message-intensive individuals are among the most active users of unified messaging solutions today. A key requirement is a user interface with effective features that enables easy access and management of priority messages while on the move; a voice interface provides this," said Rich Costello, Research Director, Gartner Group.
IP Mobility Solutions
Enterprise users can now reap the benefits of increased wireless mobility. Through the March Networks 3200 Applications Gateway and March Networks 3200 integration with Ericsson's Mobile Advantage™, users can now be reached at one office number whether they're at their desks or on the other side of the world.
Digital Video from March Networks
In addition to its own line of VoIP platforms and applications, Mitel Networks will also display networked digital video solutions from March Networks Corporation, a developer, manufacturer and distributor of interactive, broadband IP applications and delivery platforms.
