Hilton is Giving Away a Piece of the Best Night's Sleep Money Can Buy; Like The Pillow? Take It Home!
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. / May 14, 2001-- Every guest staying in a Hilton Sleep-Tight Room(TM) during the month of May is invited to take the pillow home with them.
In recognition of Better Sleep Month, Hilton Hotels' "Pillow Take" promotion is offering guests the chance to bring home a bit of what some say is the best night's sleep available.
To raise awareness about sleep-related problems and help guests get a good night's sleep -- wherever they sleep -- Hilton also will hand out wallet-sized "sleep sheets" outlining good sleep habits to all Hilton "TLC" guests.
Developed with the help of the National Sleep Foundation in Washington D.C., the Hilton Sleep-Tight Room(TM) gives frequent business travelers an edge against one of their biggest foes: sleep deprivation resulting from jet lag. These specialty rooms have proven extremely popular over the past few years, and are the most requested rooms by knowing business travelers.
"Travelers from around the world have told Hilton they get a better night's sleep in our specially-designed rooms than they get at home," said Robert E. Dirks, senior vice president -- marketing & brand management, Hilton Hotels Corporation. "So we decided to thank our loyal Hilton Sleep-Tight Room(TM) guests by letting them take a little of that great sleep experience back to their own homes."
Guests who take advantage of the special offer will receive a Creative Bedding Technologies Fossfill(TM) Pillow, the same pillow found in every Sleep-Tight Room(TM) across the country. These pillows offer the comfort and feel of down without the allergenic properties. And guests won't have to squeeze it into their suitcase. They simply fill out an address form and leave it at the front desk. A brand new pillow will be mailed right to their home.
Besides Fossfill(TM) Pillows, each Sleep-Tight Room (TM) also includes:
- SERTA(R)Pillow Top Mattress: Specially designed mattress with extra pillow-top support
- Cequal Products - The Bed Lounge(R): Hand-crafted soft foam "chair" designed with arms, back and comfortable headrest to support the upper body and give maximum comfort
- Panasonic-RX-DS18 CD/Radio Stereo System: CD/radio with digital tuner, 3-D sound and extra bass
- Roc-Lon(R) TLC(TM) Drapes: Special blackout drapes with patented magnetic closure system to shut out light and noise
- Sony Dream Machine(TM): Crisp radio sound with a built-in CD player
- Sharper Image Heart & Sound Soothers(TM): Creates environmental sounds or white noise
- Bio-Brite(R) Sunrise Clock: Gently wakes sleepers with a soft "simulated sunrise"
- Apollo Systems(R) Light Box: Helps realign the body's circadian rhythms
- Natural Sounds Relaxation CDs: A collection of environmental music and other relaxation audio

- Modified Minibar, which includes the usual snacks, beverages and alcoholic drinks, as well as several sleep-friendly alternatives such as caffeine-free beverages, crackers, juices, milk, cheeses and water.
The Sleep-Tight Room(TM) is part of a network of fifty specialty rooms across the country that Hilton calls Travel Lifestyle Centers(TM), or TLCs.
