On the scene just moments after two hijacked airliners struck the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center, Bernard Kerik worked tirelessly to coordinate the rescue efforts, ensure the city's safety, and reassure Americans with his strength, determination, and leadership. Kerik is no stranger to adversity and through hands-on leadership and innovative management, he has met each daunting challenge with success.

In addition to being in the national spotlight, Kerik's greatest battle took place within himself. His best-selling memoir, The Lost Son: A Life in Pursuit of Justice, chronicles his quest to solve the greatest case of his life—the tragic mystery of his own mother, who abandoned him at age four.
