P.R.S. 'Biki' Oberoi Awarded 'Lifetime Achievement Award' at the

The annual award is given to those who have demonstrated extraordinary leadership and is voted upon by an Advisory Board comprised of leaders from the fields of hospitality, investment banking, travel journalism and hospitality consulting.

Popularly known as "Biki," Mr. Oberoi is the son of Rai Bahadur M.S. Oberoi, the founder of The Oberoi Group. In addition to providing leadership for the management of hotels in seven countries, Mr. Oberoi has been instrumental in pioneering the development of new Oberoi Hotels & Resorts. The Oberoi brand has come to represent fine luxury hotels and personalized service around the world. Recently, the addition of luxury resort hotels such as Udaivilas, Vanyavilas, Amarvilas and Rajvilas have blended the world's finest resort hotels with unique architecture. Mr. Oberoi has directed the development of these luxury hotels, breaking ground in new destinations and setting high standards in hospitality.

The Hotel Intercontinental Berlin was the location for this prestigious industry gathering, attended by delegates from over forty countries. The IHIF provides an invaluable opportunity for leading hotel investors and CEOs of hotel companies to meet and explore matters of mutual interest. Concerning the selection of Mr. Oberoi, co-host Jonathan Worsley of Insignia Hotels and Advisor to the World Travel and Tourism Council, stated, "Mr. Oberoi is very deserving of this award as he has shown exceptional leadership and vision. We are delighted to present the 2003 International Hotel Investment Forum Lifetime Achievement Award to P.R.S Oberoi."
