New Directors for Hotel’s Conference Sales, Hudson Theatre & Catering Operations to Support Hotel
NEW YORK, NY -- Based on record growth in conventions and meeting business, the Millennium Broadway Hotel, New York, has brought in top hospitality professionals as directors in its key sales, management and catering departments. This is part of the hotel’s aggressive program to upgrade the services and facilities of the conference center to provide the finest meeting and convention services in New York.
The new staff include:
- Jim Mooney, Director of Conference Sales for the Millennium Broadway Hotel
- Herbert Rose, Managing Director of the Hudson Theatre for the Millennium Broadway Hotel
- James Corish, Director of Food and Beverage for the Millennium Broadway Hotel
Jim Mooney will spearhead sales for the hotel’s 110,000-square-foot urban conference center in 37 rooms on six floors for meetings and exhibitions, as well as the Hudson Theatre, the only Broadway Theatre which is regularly available for concerts, meetings, weddings and other events. Mooney has spent nearly nine years working in the hospitality industry with the Starwood and Sheraton Hotels. Prior to joining the Millennium Broadway Hotel, he worked in association convention sales for Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers. He handled regional corporate transient sales for Starwood Hotels of New York, overseeing 11 hotels including: Sheraton, Westin, W and St. Regis brand hotels. Mooney has held other positions overseeing corporate transient business for Sheraton Hotels of New York and the Sheraton Inner Harbor in Baltimore.
Herbert Rose will oversee the operations of the Hudson Theater, a 100-year old landmark and the only Broadway Theatre that is regularly available for concerts, meetings, weddings and other events. It is currently completing an exciting restoration. Before joining the Millennium Broadway Hotel, Rose was the director of catering operations at Cipriani U.S.A., where he re-opened the Rainbow Room in 1999 and oversaw the renovation and staffing of the entire facility. In addition to the Rainbow Room, Rose was responsible for overseeing all of the Cipriani catering venues: Cipriani 42nd Street and Cipriani Sutton. Rose was also the director of catering at a number of New York based hotels, including: the Pierre Hotel (a Four Seasons Hotel), The Tarrytown Hilton, The Statler Hilton and The Waldorf Astoria.
James Corish has over twenty years of experience in increasing operational responsibility in prestigious hotels and restaurants in New York. In his new position, Corish will be responsible for Millennium Broadway Hotel’s catering operations. This includes providing top quality food and beverage for conventions and meetings in the refurbished conference center as well as events taking place at the hotel’s Hudson Theatre. Prior to joining the Millennium Broadway Hotel, Corish was the director of food and beverage at the Roosevelt Hotel, where he as named “Leader of the Year in the Year 2000”. Corish was also general manager of the Oak Room & Bar at the Plaza Hotel and before that was a general manager at A Matter of Taste restaurant.
