eCornell Partners with the Cortiva Institute to Target the Wellness Space
Parties See Great Demand for Online Management Courses
ITHACA, N.Y., eCornell and the Cortiva Institute have joined forces to create a new and innovative program designed to provide management and business training to health and wellness professionals. eCornell is developing tailored versions of its existing management courses as well as new courses for Cortiva's student and alumni populations to meet the growing demand for such material among this new breed of professionals.
This multi-year agreement, believed to be the first of its kind, is designed to ensure that Cortiva graduates have the necessary business and management skills to complement their training in massage therapy and ensure their success as career-minded employees, private practitioners, or small business owners. "eCornell's courses were the obvious choice to round out Cortiva's curriculum and provide essential management training," says Alan Clingman, Cortiva's Chairman and CEO. "Cornell University's preeminent experience in providing training to the hospitality industry ensures the superiority of the eCornell content and its appropriateness to our audience."
"eCornell's delivery model of Structured Flexibility(TM) is a perfect fit for Cortiva's students," says eCornell's President and CEO Chris Proulx. "Our instructor-led courses give students the flexibility to work when and where it is convenient for them, but maintain the structure and discipline of being part of a class cohort. With their subject-matter expertise, our instructors help students apply the course material to real-life scenarios, deepen the learning experience, and enhance students' motivation." eCornell's Structured Flexibility is a primary driver behind its 90% plus course-completion rates.
The eCornell/Cortiva curriculum for currently enrolled students includes courses in finance, communication, supervisory skills, and customer service. Students and alumni also have preferred access to eCornell courses in marketing, leadership and strategic management, financial management, human resources management, management essentials, and hospitality and foodservice management.
These courses are offered on a preferred basis to owners, managers, and practitioners in the wellness industry including spas, fitness clubs, and chiropractic practices.
