China Hotel Investment Summit The International Hotel Leaders Network

For the second consecutive year, the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) participated in the China Hotel Investment Summit held at the Grand Hyatt in Shanghai April 26th - 28th. EHL once again was named as an honorable supporter of the hotel investment summit that brings together top leaders of the international hotel community and prominent Chinese hoteliers.

The China Hotel Investment Summit (CHIS) seeks to blaze the trail to hotels, resorts and serviced apartments investments in China.

Co-hosted by the largest global hospitality consulting firm - HVS International, and the leading institution for hospitality education in China - Beijing International Studies University, (a school that EHL currently has a working relationship with) CHIS is the hoteliers' networking highlight of the year. Distinguished speakers from international hospitality academia, leaders of the global hotel industry and Asia's Who's Who - will present their views and insights of the market trends as well as investment and development opportunities in China.

At this year's summit, Professor Allen Toman (Professor of Real Esate Finance at the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne) took centre stage moderating a round table forum Spotting the deals Institutional investor insights. The forum was extremely well received by the conference attendees. By moderating or participating in panels of this nature and others like it at various international conferences, Professor Toman not only displays his expertise and research excellence in the hospitality financial sector, but also promotes EHL as an opinion leader able to contribute to the industries future trends and developments.

In further news, EHL's General Director Ruud Reuland has been invited to join the China Hotel Investment Summit Advisory Board. The advisory board is instrumental in setting the theme and agenda for the following year's conference. By accepting this offer, Mr. Reuland feels that EHL will continue to develop our reputation as a leading hospitality educator developing the industry's future leadership talent while at the same time cultivate our partnership relations with the international hospitality industry.
