AltiusPAR

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. | AltiusPAR, a pioneer in developing software and service solutions for the hospitality industry, today announced that its product offerings are optimized to help hotels manage and make sense of data from RFID technologies.

“RFID will increasingly play an important role in helping hotels improve operational efficiencies while giving them more visibility into relevant customer, employee and valuables data,” said Connie L. Rheams, vice president of AltiusPAR. “AltiusPAR is committed to keeping on top of the latest technological innovations that our customers are using to help better manage and operate their businesses.”

RFID technology can help reduce costly hotel operations and logistics by offering a wireless and automated process to collect vital information, such as check-in and check-out data, food and beverage purchases, luggage tracking and housekeeping records. However, the data is only as valuable as the software used to analyze and manage it. AltiusPAR’s complete suite of enterprise hotel systems is designed to help hotels maximize their investment in RFID.

Customer loyalty cards: RFID based applications can be used in customer loyalty cards that can identify a customer as he or she walks through a store. Using this, the history of purchases made by the customer can be tracked.

Open room and office doors: this allows hotels to interface with energy saving systems and for security reasons, control when exactly and by whom doors are opened.

Guest information and self check-in/out: RFID tags can help hotels identify their guests and profiles wherever they go in the hotel, allows guests to review their folio at kiosks and allows them to self check-in/out at kiosks. The RFID tags will also make reservations confirmations much easier since it will include information about their preferences.

Luggage tracking: RFID can be used to track luggage in hotels, at airports and other transportation hubs Tracking personnel: In restaurants and hotels, when guests or customers arrive, their identity can be verified as they pass through a checkpoint. Additional security checks help personnel determine who had accessed a particular area.

Housekeeping controls: a room’s housekeeping status can be set by RFID tags so that: supervisor inspections can be confirmed to PMS; out of order rooms can be sent to PMS directly from the rooms; room access and security logs can interface through the tags; active disturb/do not disturb requests can be added to the RFID room key.
