Hilton Atlanta Northeast Secures Guest Convenience And Enhances Décor With ADVANCE by Onity™ Locking Solution

ATLANTA, GA | The Hilton Atlanta Northeast, a Dow Hotel Company property, has chosen the ADVANCE by Onity electronic locking solution to secure its guest room doors. ADVANCE, Onity’s new two-piece modular locking system, was recently installed on all 272 guest rooms and suites at the popular Northeast Atlanta property, as well as the pool area and concierge lounge.

Onity ADVANCE was selected by the Hilton Atlanta Northeast to replace another vendor’s traditional ‘full face’ lock. The existing locks had begun to show signs of age, including an increasing number of lock failures. Onity ADVANCE resolved this issue plus gave an updated look that blends perfectly with the Hilton’s elegant décor. The ADVANCE lock chosen by the Hilton Atlanta Northeast features a satin brass finish with a wing handle design. In addition, an attractive brass cover plate was created to cover the existing door cut-out and unify the overall design.

“Our old lock system from the previous vendor had been upgraded over the years with updated software, but we were still working with the original hardware on the door, so lock failures had become an everyday occurrence,” said Michael McConkey, regional engineer for the Dow Hotel Company. “That was a real nuisance for guests, who had to come back to the front desk to have keys re-encoded, sometimes at very inconvenient times. With Onity’s ADVANCE locking system, we are experiencing a truly impressive reliability rate. In addition, the installation went flawlessly. The Onity personnel were well-versed, prepared, and worked easily around our room blocks, so as not to disturb the guests.”

In addition to improving operational efficiency, ADVANCE also provided an aesthetic upgrade from the old locking system at the Hilton Atlanta Northeast. “The two-piece design is definitely more up to date and cutting edge,” said McConkey. “It just looks better and provides a new look that sets us apart from other properties.”

ADVANCE by Onity™ is an electronic locking solution that offers a wide range of flexibility in both aesthetic design and operational features. The newly developed electronic lock features a unique, modular, two-piece design that minimizes hardware on the guestroom door. A wide selection of attractive finishes, interchangeable handle styles, and cover plates allow hotels to seamlessly blend the locks into the overall design of the property. The ADVANCE solution also offers dual upgradeable technology, so that, as security technology continues to advance, upgrades and retrofits are both simple and affordable.
