Certified Hospitality Accountant Executive (CHAE) of the Year, Donna Turner, CPA, CHAE, To Be Honored at 2007 Annual Convention & Tradeshow
AUSTIN, TEXAS | Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®) will honor Donna Turner, CPA, CHAE, as the 2007 Certified Hospitality Accountant Executive (CHAE) of the Year at the 2007 Annual Convention & Tradeshow in Jacksonville, Fla. The award will be presented to her during the general session on Thursday, October 18 at 8:30 a.m. at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront.
AUSTIN, TEXAS | Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®) will honor Donna Turner, CPA, CHAE, as the 2007 Certified Hospitality Accountant Executive (CHAE) of the Year at the 2007 Annual Convention & Tradeshow in Jacksonville, Fla. The award will be presented to her during the general session on Thursday, October 18 at 8:30 a.m. at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront. In its 24th year, the CHAE of the Year award recognizes the person who scored the highest in a given year on the CHAE exam.
Donna Turner, CPA, CHAE
Turner is the chief financial officer and controller of the Country Club of Mobile in Mobile, Ala. She has been with the country club for the past 11 years. Her experience includes operations of real estate development companies, homeowner associations and hotels operating under national franchises.
“I am honored to receive the CHAE of the Year award,” said Turner. “It was important for me to commit myself to preparing for the exam because I am geographically separated from other colleagues and I'm grateful it paid off. The Mobile, Ala. area is on the cusp of unprecedented growth and I hope receiving this honor will reflect well on the hospitality industry in the area.”
Acknowledged worldwide, the CHAE certification elevates the professionalism of both the recipient and the industry by helping set standards for the field. Those who earn the CHAE designation demonstrate a high level of dedication to their profession. The first CHAE exam was taken in Colorado Springs, Colo. in 1981. Since that time, more than 1,000 hospitality accountants from several countries have been certified.
HFTP also administers the examination and awards the Certified Hospitality Technology Professional (CHTP). The CHTP exam includes assessments based on Technology Concepts, Emerging Technologies, Targeted Technology and Managing Technology.

Certification Exams Online at 2007 Annual Convention & Tradeshow
The CHAE and CHTP certification exams will be available online at the 2007 Annual Convention & Tradeshow. Online exams provide easy access from any compuer and instant e-mail results. Review sessions for the CHAE and CHTP exams are scheduled for October 17 at 8 a.m. and the exams for the CHAE and the CHTP are scheduled for October 17 at 1 p.m., both at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront in Jacksonville, Fla. To register for the CHAE and CHTP exams, fill out the CHAE application or the CHTP application found on the HFTP web site and turn in to the HFTP certification department by October 5.
