HFTP Education Advisory Council Announces New Leadership Education Track for the 2007 Annual Convention & Tradeshow

AUSTIN, TEXAS | Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals’ (HFTP®) 2007 Annual Convention & Tradeshow will promote hospitality leadership and innovation through its high-quality education, networking opportunities, tradeshow and numerous networking events. To expand on these leadership opportunities at the Annual Convention & Tradeshow, the HFTP Education Advisory Council has added a new education track called Leadership...

“The technical skills of leadership are important, but while intuitive may not always come naturally to professionals,” said Frank Wolfe, CAE, CEO of HFTP. “Leadership Unlimited will provide valuable education for those wishing to improve their leadership skills by focusing on going a step beyond and taking leadership to the next level.”

Whether it is in honing leadership skills, improving within a profession, moving up the ladder or making a career change, this dynamic program is designed to help attendees achieve their leadership goals. This high impact track will highlight cultivating leadership for those striving to advance their careers and will help them discover how to make powerful presentations, become intuitive when dealing with colleagues and improve their image.

Leadership Track Sessions will include:

Overcoming Average: Simple Steps to Managerial Excellence - This session will outline the behaviors associated with good and poor management and then look at the difference having a supportive manager makes to key employee and organizational outcomes.

  • Strategic Management Process - This session will cover the art of focusing an organization’s structure, processes and culture to achieve corporate vision and value-based goals and objectives in an evolving competitive environment.
  • Understanding Yourself & Others - This session will focus on understanding personality types to improve communication skill, career guidance, identify job candidates, team building and more.
  • Giving Influential Input: How to Grow from the Accounting Office to the Board Room and Beyond - This session will cover how today’s industry leaders rose through the ranks to the positions they currently hold today and will show hospitality professionals how the valuable feedback they provide can elevate their career.
  • Personally, You - This session will show attendees that after the basics, it’s the little things that make a difference in standing out in a crowd.
  • The Power of Engagement - This session will help attendees understand the concepts of engagement and will guide them through the decisions to be made for successful career management.

Along with the new Leadership track, the Annual Convention education program will include general sessions and five other tracks: Club, Hotel, Technology, General and International. In addition to the education program, there will be networking opportunities and a tradeshow featuring exhibitors that offer a mix of hospitality industry services such as software, insurance, human resources and Internet marketing.
