Guests staying at an independent, Kokua Hospitality-managed hotel in Chicago can now get more than a great value at a historic, Magnificent Mile-area property. They can also receive free airline miles for the flight home.

Under Kokua Hospitality’s “Magnificent Miles” program, guests of the Allerton Hotel and Inn of Chicago Magnificent Mile properties in Chicago will receive 500 free miles on American, Delta or United Airlines for every hotel stay. The free miles are valid on every domestic or international American, Delta or United flight, without blackout dates but subject to airline redemption restrictions, and are awarded for qualifying hotel rates on a per-stay rather than per-night basis.

The program, one of only a few for an independent family of hotels, becomes effective today. The two properties are being managed by Kokua Hospitality for lead owner The Chartres Lodging Group, LLC, of San Francisco.

The 443-room Allerton Hotel, the historical landmark-designated 1922-24 Chicago property that helped spur the redevelopment of North Michigan Avenue into the Magnificent Mile, is currently completing a top-to-bottom interior remodel intended to give the famed Italian Renaissance property a sleek, modern new look. The renovation, timed to coincide with kick-off of the hotel’s 85th anniversary, includes a dramatic redesign of all guest rooms and public spaces, relocation of the hotel lobby back to its original second-floor setting, completely redesigned restaurant, bar and lounge, and creation of elaborate new ballrooms and meeting spaces. Completion is scheduled for this spring.

The 357-room Inn of Chicago Magnificent Mile, located on Ohio Street a half-block from Michigan Avenue, reopened in July 2007 following a multi-million-dollar interior renovation designed to infuse the 1928 property with boutique-hotel style and re-establish it as one of the city’s premiere business and leisure destinations. Highlights of the project include a newly redesigned lobby, the new InnBar lounge, 58 new executive guest rooms and 1,100 additional square feet of meeting space including an executive board room, to bring the hotel’s meeting space total to 5,100 square feet.
