Mr. Badrinathan will head the development of PhoCusWright's business in the Asia Pacific region including strategy, syndicated research, custom engagements and conference activity. His team in Mumbai and across the region will track and analyze emerging developments and opportunities in global travel distribution.
The Asia Pacific travel market represents over US$170 billion in bookings. India in particular holds great potential for future development; PhoCusWright projects the $16 billion Indian travel market to expand to $25.8 billion by 2010. Mr. Badrinathan joined PhoCusWright in 2002 and pioneered its efforts in the Asia Pacific region as senior director, research. He has authored many groundbreaking reports, including: PhoCusWright's Indian Online Travel Overview, PhoCusWright's Australia/New Zealand Online Travel Overview, and The Emerging Online Travel Marketplace in China (to be released in 2009). Prior to joining PhoCusWright, Mr. Badrinathan was senior associate with Ion Global, a subsidiary of ChinaDotCom. He completed his undergraduate studies at the National Institute of Technology, Surat, India and holds an MBA from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
