Design Hotels™ Made by Originals – The Exhibition
The Design Hotels™ exhibition communicates a simple but essential core message: the human actor as the essence of its brand. All member hotels were created by Originals who are passionate, authentic individuals and as unique as the properties they brought to life.
The exhibition features 10 film portraits of selected “Originals,” giving spectators an up-close and personal look at the creative minds behind the hotels. Each film is displayed on a “3POD” stand designed by Maginwulf Studios. Design Hotels™ commissioned creative director Thies Wulf to create the entire hardware of the exhibition. The brief was simple but tricky: all the exhibition gear had to fit in only two suitcases, making travelling around the world a breeze. Wulf created an extremely compact installation made of ultra light carbon. He will also be responsible for setting up the Made by Originals exhibition in a one thousand-square foot gallery space at this year’s DMY Allstars event taking place in the IMA Design Village in Berlin.
For the first time in the six-year-history of the DMY, the exhibitions will not only focus on innovative and experimental design of the up-and-coming generation (DMY Youngsters), but also present a second main exhibition called DMY Allstars that will serve as a platform for international design festivals, professional designers and established design brands such as Design Hotels™.
