Villa Rothschild joins the Kempinski portfolio
Kempinski Hotels is delighted to announce that from January 1, 2010 the prestigious Villa Rothschild Hotel & Restaurant will become the Villa Rothschild Kempinski Königstein Frankfurt and the sales and marketing agreement of its sister hotel, the Kempinski Hotel Falkenstein, which will be renamed to Falkenstein Grand Kempinski Königstein Frankfurt, will change into a full management agreement at the same time. These additions follow the company’s strategy of refocusing its expansion on Europe.
The boutique hotel Villa Rothschild Kempinski is an impressive witness of German history. Built between 1888 and 1894 as a summer residence for the famous Rothschild banking family, its grand opening in 1894 was attended by high-ranking guests such as Empress Viktoria and the Prince of Wales. After World War II, the estate became the setting for the political and economic reconstruction of Western Germany. It was at this unique venue, that the decisive contracts for the founding of the Federal Republic of Germany were discussed, so the Villa Rothschild can truly be called the ‘cradle of the Federal Republic’.
Only a 20-minute drive from Frankfurt city centre and Frankfurt International Airport, the impressive villa, set in 10 hectares of landscaped gardens, offers 22 luxurious rooms and suites and elegant hotel facilities such as the unique Tizians bar. The restaurant Villa Rothschild is the gourmet address in the Frankfurt area. Chef Christoph Rainer creates innovative culinary delights. He prefers contemporary haute cuisine with seasonal influences and has been awarded one Michelin star and 17 points by Gault Millau.
