The Radisson Blu Hotel, Uppsala will benefit from a prime location next to the city's main train station - offering easy access to the city centre, Uppsala Concert Hall and Congress Centre. All 176 guest rooms will show the modern and contemporary design Radisson Blu is internationally known for, and will be equipped with Radisson signature services such as free high speed internet access. The hotel will also offer a restaurant, a lounge, 5 meeting rooms and a fitness room.
Uppsala, where Winn Hotel Group already operates a Park Inn hotel, has a population of 190,000 and a strong commercial base - it is best known for medical research and biotechnology. Uppsala is home to Scandinavia's oldest university; the campus for 40,000 students is just 1 km away from the new hotel. Town and area are well connected to the airport Stockholm-Arlanda; the short transfer by train takes 20 minutes only.
Rezidor's most famous brand Radisson Blu Hotels & Resorts was formerly known as Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts. Following Rezidor's IPO in November 2006, the brand has been renamed in 2009 - preserving the graphic and iconic "blue box", but adding the new name "Blu" which reflects the contemporary style of the chain, its sense for modern architecture and design, and unique twist.
