Revenue Management and IT to be key topics at the 5th Annual BAHA Hospitality Finance Conference and IT Exhibition

Thursday, 25 November 2010 at the Sofitel Hotel, London Heathrow at Terminal 5

One of the most prestigious and eagerly awaited events in the UK hospitality industry calendar – the 5th Annual BAHA Hospitality Finance Conference and IT Exhibition – is to be held on Thursday, 25 November 2010 at the Sofitel Hotel, London Heathrow at Terminal 5.

The 2010 one-day annual conference of BAHA – the UK’s leading educational organisation for professionals involved in financial management, revenue management and IT within the hospitality industry – will enable UK and international delegates to get an informed and cutting-edge view from an international line-up of inspirational experts, all icons in their own field, about the latest key financial, revenue and IT management issues and developments; as well as the commercial aspects that connect these together to maximise profitability.

The speakers will be announced shortly and will include leading international hotel chief executives, financial business consultants, environmentalists, and IT gurus from the USA – discussing the newest hospitality technology, aiding industry profitability and efficiency. In addition, following on from their success at last year’s BAHA Annual Conference, there will be a programme of industry specific educational workshops – all led by top specialists in their subjects. Details of these will also be revealed shortly.

One highly topical subject to be covered will be the evolving discipline of ‘Revenue Management’ which is proving its effectiveness in the current difficult economic climate. It will not only be the focus of a number of educational workshops, but also a major session at the Conference. In response to industry demand, the growing importance of this management practice has been recognised by BAHA with the formation this summer of its first ever ‘Hospitality Revenue Management Community (HRMC) Committee’, currently in the process of ratification by the BAHA Council. In addition, the Association – which currently provides the only industry specific hospitality finance education programme – has decided to produce a Certification Programme specifically for ‘Revenue Managers’.

“The new BAHA HRMC Committee will provide a major forum for debate, education, and generally raising the profile of the evolving discipline of ‘Revenue Management’,” explained BAHA Chief Executive Carl Weldon. “The HRMC Committee will be chaired by Heather Hart, Director, Rev Excel; and will include, amongst leading practitioners in this field, BAHA Council Member Warren Mandelbaum, Head of Revenue Management, Whitbread Hotels & Restaurants.”

As in previous years, the BAHA Annual Conference will be supported by a growing and increasingly influential exhibition of IT suppliers – providing delegates with a ‘one stop shop’ to view and interact with the latest and ‘best in class’ technologies – covering all eventualities for hospitality businesses, whether they be start-up, established independent, or multi chain-owned, operations.

In short, the 2010 BAHA one-day Conference and IT Exhibition promises to be invaluable for networking, professional updating – through expert presentations, panel forums and educational workshops – and experiencing Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

The event’s grand finale Gala Dinner is one of the traditional social networking highlights of the BAHA Conference.
