Before taking a position on Pinterest, we decided to experiment with four different hotels to see if it's worth ours and our client's time.
Case Study Metrics
We created accounts for 4 hotels in different niches, locations and categories: Grand Velas Riviera Maya, a high-end beach resort in Mexico, Inn on Bourbon, a boutique hotel in Bourbon Street, Bardessono, a luxurious Napa Valley boutique hotel, and Ramada Pacific, a collective of hotels on the west coast. The case study ran for 5 weeks and was done the following way:
- Created accounts for each hotel
- Created boards with different niche categories such as Local Food, Weddings, and Beaches.
- Pinned photos from hotel's website and blogs using keyword rich descriptions every other day
- Interacted with other users by following them and repining and liking their pins
- Monitored accounts weekly
