Co-publishers Richard Elliott and Debbie van der Beek, are elated by the enthusiastic response from the industry about their new venture. "Since launching Ignite magazine in 2008, the most FAQ we"ve been asked has been – When is Ignite going to launch a new show? Over the past four years, we"ve researched what planners want, imagined the possibilities, pushed the boundaries and took risks to create something truly unique and experiential. We are confident that iBE will set a new precedent for shows, and the experience offered to attendees, just as we did with Ignite magazine," says van der Beek.
The two-day trade show, taking place at the Direct Energy Centre, June 12-13, will feature a number of new initiatives that are bound to shake up the status quo of a meeting industry event. Listen to a veritable roster of Canadian marquee speakers within a showcase format, featuring the inspiring stories of Craig and Marc Kielburger, Dr. Greg Wells, Patricia Lovett-Reid and Sonia Verma. Kevin O"Leary, popular panelist on the hit CBC show, Dragon"s Den delivers his hard-hitting analysis on business, the value of work and the freedom of money.
Be dazzled by the wealth of creativity on the show floor. Exhibitors have been urged to break out of "booth box" mentality to create innovative ways to interact with attendees. Be on the look-out for popular sections of Ignite magazine to appear in glorious three dimensions right before your eyes. See if you can tell the cost effective difference between the "High/Low" tableaus, cheer on a creative "Diva on a Dime" or take in the "Gotta Get It" display.
In addition to the trade show and educational sessions, a number of industry associations have planned events in conjunction with iBE. The Toronto MPI Chapter will host its educational congress in Niagara Falls on June 10 and 11. The Association of Corporate Travel Executives is hosting their golf tournament on Monday June 11. SITE Canada has moved their popular Summer Social to coincide with the show and look forward to welcoming colleagues from across the country at this perennial sold-out event.
