Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne welcomes new students
At the start of the new academic year in September 2013, Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) welcomed a total of 394 new students for all courses. This year, almost 990 candidates applied to start the Preparatory Year at EHL. The admission rate was 36%, with 300 students accepted for the September 2013 entry.
Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne is an ambassador of the Swiss hotel tradition and has, since 1893, been a pioneer in education for the hospitality industry. EHL is a world reference in hospitality management and offers three academic programmes:
- Diploma in Hotel and Restaurant Management
- Bachelor of Science in International Hospitality Management
- Master programme (Executive MBA in Hospitality Administration)
Preparatory Year – Bachelor Programme
- 300 students: 41% male, 59% female
- 191 in the English section, 109 in the French section
- 59 nationalities
- Average age: 19
Direct Entry – Bachelor Programme
- 50 students 10 nationalities: 46% Swiss, 54% international
- Average age: 22
Diploma Programme
- 26 students: 40% male, 60% female
- 14 students in the English section, 12 in the French section
- 18 nationalities: 36% Swiss, 64% international
- Average age: 23.4
Master Programme (Executive MBA in Hospitality Administration)
- 18 students: 56% male, 44% female
- 13 nationalities
- Average age: 29
