Provast and MEININGER Hotels have been awarded the bid for a new hotel in Amstel Station, Amsterdam

MEININGER Hotels and Provast have signed a long-term lease agreement for the Amsteltower. Provast bid for a tender issued by the City of Amsterdam for a mixed-use project to build a residential and hotel building. The hotel section of the building, which is to be located near the Amstel Station in Amsterdam, covers an area of 7,500 m² and has 165 rooms is going to be a MEININGER Hotel.

As Navneet Bali, CEO of MEININGER Hotels, explains, "MEININGER is a unique hybrid hotel product. The hotel next to Amstel Station is going to be an important step for our expansion in Europe. MEININGER's aim is to run an 'urban traveller's home' in every European capital city. The Amstel Station location is perfect in this respect."

Hans de Jong, who is Managing Partner at Provast, adds, "MEININGER Hotels has a well thought-out concept and is rapidly expanding throughout Europe. We are extremely pleased to have this opportunity to develop this project with MEININGER. The combination of a 100 meter high residential tower and the MEININGER Hotel will give the Amsteltower an extremely robust identity."

The Amsteltower project programme covers 21,500 m²: 7,500 m² for the MEININGER Hotel, 192 apartments and 500 m² for retail.

This is going to be the second MEININGER hotel in Amsterdam since MEININGER opened its first hotel in Amsterdam, City-West in 2012.

Berkenholt Vastgoed advised MEININGER Hotels on the lease. The project investment
volume amounts to approximately €70 million.
