MEININGER currently operates in 10 European cities including London, Berlin, Amsterdam, Brussels, and Vienna. The primary targets for the company's European expansion are Paris, Barcelona, Rome, Edinburgh, Florence, Zurich, Munich (amongst others including more locations in its current destinations). MEININGER is looking for green field development sites as well as existing buildings for conversions. MEININGER Hotels can be standalone or as part of a mixed-use scheme. The buildable area of a MEININGER Hotel is between 3,500 m² and 10,000 m². Because of its unique model MEININGER has a more flexible approach to room sizes and the external visibility of its hotels. Its existing hotels range from purpose built to conversions of offices, residential buildings and even a brewery!
MEININGER´s existing hotels operate on long-term leases with owners ranging from property developers to institutional investors. Several of these investors, have more than one property based on the success of their investments with MEININGER. The successful operating model was endorsed by the take over of the company last year by Holidaybreak Ltd a large pan European travel company.

Contracts for 13 new hotels in Bordeaux, Brussels, Budapest, Dresden, Geneva, Glasgow, Heidelberg, Lyon, Munich, Paris, Zurich, Innsbruck and Washington DC have already been signed. MEININGER has ambitious plans for growth - in this regard, the focus is no longer only on Europe - possibilities for an expansion to Asia is also being sounded out.
In the 'TREUGAST Investment Ranking 2016', the MEININGER Group achieved an AA rating. In the Dun & Bradstreet Risk Assessment MEININGER (Hotels Limited) is rated 5A 1 (based on end of FY 18). The MEININGER group is headquartered in Berlin.
