The Jaffa flea market is a historical gem, yet during recent years the market area has undergone many changes. Alongside antique shops and veteran merchants, designer boutique stores, bars and restaurants now thrive. The Market House Hotel celebrates this location by symbolizing a combination of the old and the new. The Jaffa Hotel design brings together distinct local art which bring out the hidden, magical feeling of the city. Archaeological remains of an 8th century Byzantine Chapel create the base of the Jaffa Tel Aviv hotel and three floors were added to create the hotel building. The Market House Hotel lobby contains a clear glass floor to provide guests with an impressive view of the magnificent remains.
