AUSTIN, June 15, 2015 – LG Electronics USA, the industry leader in hotel- and guest-centric display solutions, today announced its 2015 line of 4K Ultra HD hotel TVs, ranging from 43- to 79-inch class sizes.

The new UX970H series – available this fall in 49-, 55-, 65- and 79-inch class sizes – features the Pro:Idiom Digital Rights Management system, LG's Pro:Centric® interactive TV platform, and embedded b-LAN. The UX340H "commercial-lite" series will be available later this summer in 43-, 49-, 55- and 65-inch class sizes.

LG's new 4K UHD hotel TVs, which display four times the resolution of Full HD, lead LG's robust selection of cutting-edge display solutions optimized for the hospitality industry, demonstrated here this week at the 2015 Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition & Conference (HITEC: Booth 1511).

"Ultra HD TVs are among the fastest-growing consumer electronics products since the dawn of the VCR. Needless to say, the market is exploding," said Richard Lewis, vice president, B2B research and technology, LG Electronics USA.

"For the U.S. consumer market, 4 million units are expected to be sold this year – four times as many as in 2014. With expanding content availability, Ultra HD is poised to play an important role in hospitality. LG's commercial Ultra HD TVs combine exciting new industrial designs with outstanding picture quality even with today's full HD content," he said.

While the amount of native 4K content is still relatively small, powerful up-scaling in these new sets delivers an unparalleled guest-room entertainment experience, taking advantage of their more than 8 million pixels, Lewis explained.

Pro:Idiom System Goes 4K and Mobile
Complementing its new 4K UHD hotel TVs, LG is expanding the capabilities of the Pro:Idiom platform, the most widely deployed Digital Rights Management system in the industry. Brand-new features include 4K Ultra HD content – delivered for the first time by Pro:Idiom – as well as Pro:Idiom Mobile and watermarking capabilities.

The subscription-less Pro:Idiom mobile system allows users to log into the hotel's network from a mobile device and stream the hotel content anywhere in the hotel property. In order to protect this content, Pro:Idiom is evolving its system with new secure watermarking capabilities. LG will be demonstrating these Pro:Idiom enhancements live at HITEC.
