Fontainebleau Miami Beach today unveils a bespoke scent created by Histoires de Parfums Founder Gerald Ghislain, inspired by and available exclusively at the storied property. The collaboration between the two luxury brands marks the first time the niche fragrance line has designed products for a hotel partner. The scent is titled Est. 1954, the year Fontainebleau was founded, in keeping with the Histoires de Parfums practice of referencing significant events, places, or public figures through a specific date. Beginning in March 2016, Fontainebleau will offer guests in-room Histoires de Parfums Est. 1954 amenities of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body lotion and bar soap.
"A partnership between Fontainebleau and Histoires de Parfums developed naturally based on shared values of maintaining the highest standard of luxury," said Philip Goldfarb, President and Chief Operating Officer at Fontainebleau Miami Beach. "As a company that perpetuates the expertise and artisanship of French perfumery, Histoires de Parfums spoke to the French lineage of Fontainebleau when designing Est. 1954."
To create the fragrance, Ghislain chose notes that celebrate both the rich international heritage and modern exotic locale of the hotel. The sophisticated, layered scent features hints of Tahitian gardenia, Hawaiian pineapple, Indian jasmine, Moroccan rose, white musk, sandalwood, patchouli, vanilla, and clove. The fresh blue of the product packaging reflects Fontainebleau's signature shade.
Gerald Ghislain founded Histoires de Parfums in 2000 with a collection of twelve delicate perfumes that has since expanded to encompass 29 fragrances drawn from his personal trips and encounters. "I am very excited to work with Fontainebleau and La Bottega because our brands share the same philosophy of balancing tradition with modernity," said Ghislain. "I am also incredibly inspired by the design of Fontainebleau, which is not only a hotel but a property that defines Miami Beach architecture. It is impossible to talk about Miami Beach without mentioned Fontainebleau as the two are intimately bonded. The creative energy of Fontainebleau and its Miami Beach location are translated into Est. 1954, an avant-garde scent that delivers an intoxicating joie de vivre."
