Building on the expertise of planning and producing the world's largest hospitality technology show, Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®) has announced plans for HITEC Amsterdam in Spring 2017. The new event will be a counterpart to the tremendously successful Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITECSM) which brings together over 5,500 individuals from the hospitality technology community and is held each year in a different city in the United States.
"Established in 1972, HITEC has built a network of industry experts, practitioners and vendors that come together for an event that offers key information and discussions," says Frank Wolfe, CAE, HFTP CEO. "We have recently worked with other hospitality allied associations on smaller events in Asia and Europe, and are confident that combining that experience with the HITEC team will result in an event that will be of value to the hospitality technology industry at large."
Planning for HITEC Amsterdam has begun, starting with guidance from an advisory council which will be chaired by Carson Booth, CHTP, vice president of global property technology for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc., based in Belgium; and vice-chaired by Derek Wood, managing director of Derek Wood Associates, Ltd. based in the United Kingdom. The preliminary program includes exhibits with up to 60 booths , a keynote presentation in the usual tradition of HITEC, and 16+ educational sessions on current technology topics for hospitality.
"HITEC has long been on the to-do list for IT professionals in the hospitality industry, with many returning year-after-year to delve into the challenges of our professions," stated Booth. "We are seeking to extend that opportunity to the European hospitality community that might not be able to travel to the United States, as well as offer elements to the event that are unique to our region."
HITEC 2016 is June 20–23 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, La. USA. More information related to HITEC Amsterdam will be available at the New Orleans event, including exhibit, sponsorship and general program information.
