ATLANTA -- Asian American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA) President and CEO Chip Rogers will attend the 43rd American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) Annual Meeting tomorrow in Indianapolis.

ALEC, a nonpartisan membership organization composed of state legislators from around the United States, supports "limited government, free markets and federalism." The 2016 meeting will feature subcommittee meetings and lectures on issues like e-commerce, taxation, labor and business regulations, and fiscal policy.

Rogers serves on ALEC's Public Enterprise Advisory Council, a group of private industry leaders who advise the council of elected officials.

"The opportunity to network with and learn from some of our sitting representatives is absolutely invaluable," Rogers said. "I am especially looking forward to the discussions on education and workforce development."

Rogers previously served 10 years in the Georgia General Assembly (2002-2012), including two terms as Senate Majority Leader. Rogers also held the position of AAHOA's vice president of government affairs before accepting the role of CEO in March, 2015.

"I've always believed that establishing relationships with representatives is the best way to make your voice heard," Rogers added. "ALEC brings representatives and constituents together in a way that encourages productive discussion and helps build valuable relationships - two things we can always use more of."

The ALEC meeting will be held July 27-29 at the JW Marriott in Indianapolis. To learn more, visit ALEC.org.
