Delaware North acquires Yellowstone National Park adventure travel company
Yellowstone Vacations bolsters Delaware North’s offerings in West Yellowstone, Mont., with lodging properties to also be marketed under the new brand name
Delaware North, one of the largest privately held hospitality and food service companies in the world, is expanding its offerings at Yellowstone National Park with the acquisition of adventure travel company Yellowstone Vacations.
Under its new Yellowstone Vacations brand (http://www.yellowstonevacations.com), Delaware North will also market its four West Yellowstone lodging options – the Holiday Inn® West Yellowstone, Gray Wolf Inn & Suites, Yellowstone Park Hotel and the Explorer Cabins at Yellowstone.
"Now, more than ever, travelers want the convenience of planning their entire vacation in one place. With the acquisition of Yellowstone Vacations, Delaware North can now offer that all-inclusive experience and curate unique vacation itineraries for visitors to this incredible national park," said Jim Houser, Delaware North group president.
Delaware North also operates 12 general stores in Yellowstone National Park under a contract with the U.S. National Park Service.
For more than three generations, Yellowstone Vacations has been widely recognized as the leading all-inclusive provider of special tours and activities for travelers planning a Yellowstone vacation. Wintertime experiences include interpretive snowcoach tours and thrilling snowmobile tours and rentals. In the summer months, Yellowstone Vacations offers memorable tours of Yellowstone National Park's Upper and Lower Loop to see landmarks such as Old Faithful geyser and Firehole Canyon up close. The tours are conducted by certified interpretive guides.
Yellowstone Vacations represents another significant 2016 addition to the portfolio of Delaware North's parks and resorts business. This year the company also:
- Added 25 new cabins at the Lodge at Geneva, which the company operates for Ashtabula County on Lake Erie in Ohio.
- Began operating Honey Creek Resort on Rathbun Lake for the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.
- Acquired Sea Crest Beach Hotel on Cape Cod in Massachusetts.
