Bali Hospitality Pipeline Benefits From Innovative Hotel Concepts [Infographic]

Bali’s project pipeline currently features 29 projects that will offer a total of 5,698 new rooms, the vast majority of which will be available in 2018

A key piece of the foundation of a solid hotel pipeline in any country is innovation. Innovation in the hotel space is vital as tourism markets continue to expand and visitors start to seek concepts they can't find anywhere else.

Currently, the project pipeline in Bali bears this out, with a steady amount of growth that is being supported by a few truly unique ideas. One of those unique concepts has been created by Marriott International as part of the company's W hotel. It's called the W Sound Suite and it debuted in Bali last year.

The W Sound Suite concept caters to high end guests, especially professional musicians. Drawing inspiration from how The Doors recorded the 1970 album Morrison Hotel in a grungy Los Angeles hotel. The W experience, of course, is far from grungy. The Sound Suite facilities feature an on-site recording studio that officials say provides "a perfect environment for professional musicians to record while on the road, while also being available for hotel guests who want a taste of the limelight."

In addition to the Bali property, this concept is also now available at the W Hollywood, meaning that the luxury lifestyle brand that was first rolled out in Bali has extended to the most glamorous market in the United States. There are also Sound Suite's available to guests now In Seattle and Barcelona. The Bali incarnation, however, is notable for a couple of reasons, the first of which is that Lady Gaga and DJ White Shadow collaborated to make sure the suite's mixing equipment, lounge, and vocal booth matched the expectations of real life superstar musicians. The second is that this sort of innovation, which has now spread to the global stage, is indicative of a healthy project pipeline overall in Bali.

Indeed, Bali's project pipeline currently features 29 projects that once completed will offer a total of 5,698 new rooms. The vast majority of these projects will be completed in 2018, with 17 of them scheduled for completion then. Of these projects, 25 are in the construction phase, meaning that the expansion in Bali's capacity to house visitors will be coming sooner rather than later.

It's also telling that of the 29 projects, 19 fall into the luxurious 5 star category while the 10 others are considered four stars, meaning that the current trend in Bali is more so oriented toward high end guests, much like the W's Sound Suite concept.
