For many years, France has ranked as a country synonymous with luxury tourism. The gorgeous tree-lined streets of Paris, the art museums, the food, the beaches, the monuments like the Eiffel Tower—in many ways no country encapsulates luxury traveling at its finest as does France.
This is not, however, to say that the tourism industry in the country has become stagnant. In fact, the truth is that it is anything but. According to information from the TOPHOTELCONSTRUCTION database, this coming year stands to be one of expansion and development for tourism in France.
The Modern Hospitality Industry in France
Information from TOPHOTELCONSTRUCTION shows that there are currently 90 projects in France's hotel construction pipeline. Once completed, these projects will mean the addition of 17,944 new rooms. That's a pretty significant hospitality expansion for a country the size of France.
Meanwhile, a sizable amount of that expansion is poised to take place sooner rather than later. In fact, of the 90 total projects coming soon to France, 40 percent of them will make their debut within this calendar year, totaling 36 new hotels in the country. The following year will be a busy one as well, with 22 projects slated to open up in 2019. Of these 90 coming projects, 36 are slated to be designated as luxury hotels while 54 are set to be first class. We, of course, would expect nothing less of a country as romantic as France.
Meet the Top Hotels Coming to France
For many years France has served as a bellwether in the hospitality industry, a place that savvy owners and operators can look to identify the trends that will soon define the business. This has not changed.
