Hyatt stands out as the hotel chain that has instituted the best customer-friendly and customer-safe policies during the COVID-19 pandemic, a new analysis shows.

NerdWallet, a personal finance company with hotel and travel industry expertise, analyzed and graded eight chains' policies and found that Hyatt's "last-minute face mask requirement and staff training procedures" set it apart from the others. Other hotel-chain policies analyzed were those of Hilton, Marriott, IHG, Best Western, Radisson, Choice and Wyndham.

On July 27, Hyatt began requiring guests to wear face coverings within indoor public areas of all its hotels in the USA and Canada. The hotel chain says it is supplying face masks to all guests without them and requesting guests to practice social distancing.
