The Zetter Group acquired by Orca Holding
The Zetter Group, owner of three Zetter-branded properties in London, has been acquired by Orca Holding, an international lifestyle hotel investor and developer owned and run by Laith Pharaon. The sellers of the Zetter Group are its founders, Mark Sainsbury and Michael Benyan, who opened The Zetter Hotel 18 years ago, followed by The Zetter Townhouses in Clerkenwell and Marylebone. Orca Holding plans to retain the Zetter brand and grow it post-acquisition, initially concentrated in key cities across the UK and Europe.
Westmont co-invests in German and Dutch Invesco Portfolio
Institutional asset manager Invesco has partnered with Canadian hotel owner operator Westmont Hospitality to co-invest in a portfolio of 13 IHG branded hotels across Germany and the Netherlands. Invesco originally acquired the 13-hotel portfolio in 2017 together with Event Hotels as an operating partner, who are being replaced by Westmont Hospitality. In addition to being a co-investor in the assets, Westmont will operate the hotels under lease agreements, subject to franchise agreements with IHG under their Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza brands.
H10 Hotels sells the H10 Ítaca in Barcelona
H10 Hotels, a Spanish owner operator owned by the Espelt Family, have sold the 100-room H10 Hotel Ítaca in Barcelona in a sale-and-lease-back transaction to a local family office for €20 million (€200,000 per room). Located in the direct vicinity of Barcelona´s main railway station, the 4-star hotel has been recently refurbished and offers a restaurant, a lobby bar and a 700 sqm terrace including a plunge pool. H10 will continue operating the hotel under a lease agreement.
Stanton House Hotel in Wiltshire, UK sold by Honda to John Mulchandani
The 78-room Stanton House Hotel, located in a village outside Swindon, to the south of the Cotswolds region of the UK, has been sold to local high net worth individual John Mulchandani for a reported price of approximately £5 million (£64,000 per room). The seller was the Honda Motor Company, which had owned the property for the last 30 years.
