At Accor, women and men from all walks of life are brought together by our strong shared values: inclusion, trust and respect for diversity. International Women's Rights is an opportunity to promote these values and to look back at the Group's commitment to gender quality, diversity and tackling any kind of violence. Gender equality is one of the 4 key pillars of Accor's Diversity & Inclusion policy. 43% of our employees are women and we are taking concrete actions to ensure no woman sees her ambitions limited or restricted.

Leader of the "Gender-based Violence" coalition by UN Women

Since 2015, Accor has been involved with the HeForShe movement by UN Women. For 5 years, our Group has been a member of the IMPACT 10x10x10 initiative (10 governments, 10 companies including Accor and 10 universities) from UN Women, whose commitments focus on equal pay and women's representation in management bodies.

In line with our commitments, our Group has been selected to take part this year in one of the six Action Coalitions in the "Generation Equality" program from UN Women. Accor is officially part of the "Gender-based Violence" Coalition as co-leader with Kering, founding company of the OneinThreeWomen network.

With a common goal of working together to accelerate gender equality, the Action Coalitions are made up of member states, businesses, youths, civil society, international organizations and philanthropic organizations.

Accor's commitments as part of this Coalition will be communicated next June at the Generation Equality Forum in Paris.

To support this commitment and in consultation with Hubs and operations, work is already underway to implement measures to raise awareness, prevent, support, and protect employees in the following three areas:

  • Sexism
  • Sexual harassment
  • Domestic violence

With more than 26,000 members, RiiSE aims to make diversity a key driver for collective performance. To achieve this goal, the network relies on 2 significant drivers: Transmission and Empowerment to reveal the potential of talented employees by guiding them, inspiring them and nurturing their personal development and the elimination of any form of discrimination, harassment, or violence by helping, listening and taking action to eradicate unacceptable behavior. RiiSE celebrated its 2-year anniversary at the end of 2020.

Women on the Covid front-line: show your big and small victories!

This year, the Group wanted to highlight on all these women at Accor all over the world who, through their courage, perseverance, and personal/professional commitment, turned the unprecedented situations they have faced during the pandemic into big or small victories. Our Diversity & Inclusion teams launched an internal #womeninfront Global Photo Competition and invited our employees to photograph an individual or shared victory they were proud of.
