ATLANTA – hihotels by Hospitality International, a recognized leader in franchising of conversion and new build hotels for economy lodging, is pleased to announce the hiring of industry veteran Les Scane as a Franchise Development and Assurance & Marketing Program Director.

Based out of the Grand Rapids, Michigan area, Scane will be spearheading the growth of hihotels’ five distinct brands – Red Carpet Inn, Scottish Inns, Master Hosts Inns, Downtowner Inns and Passport Inn – in the Midwest and parts of the Southeast, Great Plains and Rocky Mountain regions. As part of the company’s Assurance & Marketing Program (AMP), he’ll also be delivering ongoing sales and marketing support and training to franchisees in those areas.

Scane began his career in hospitality as a GM/Regional Manager for Janus Hotels before spending nearly 14 years as an SSAP Director (Sales Support & Assurance Program) for Vantage Hospitality Group, working mostly with Americas Best Value Inn owners on key strategies such as reservation training, sales, marketing and operations.

“AMP has been wildly successful in providing one-on-one marketing and reservation assistance tailored to each franchisee and market. When looking to take the program to the next level, Les was the obvious choice. He enjoyed tremendous success with Vantage and fits perfectly into the unique, family-like culture we have built between the corporate team and hotel owners,” said hihotels President & CEO Chris Guimbellot.

“I am definitely one of numerus people who have noticed the resurgence of Hospitality International over the past year or so. It’s quite a thrill to join their talented staff – several of whom I worked with previously – and help continue growing their brands and guiding franchisees to even greater success,” said Scane.

hihotels by Hospitality International is a recognized leader in franchising of conversion and new build hotels for economy lodging. Our five distinct brands – Red Carpet Inn, Scottish Inns, Master Hosts Inns, Downtowner Inns and Passport Inn – offer franchisees a choice of opportunities to best suit their particular market, geographic area and personal business needs. Our team does not require franchise members to look and operate identically.

The Red Carpet Inn brand has been a stable entity in the lodging industry since 1968. Locations include limited and full-service hotel facilities in the economy to mid-level price ranges. Guest amenities include: guestroom toiletries package, in-room high speed Internet access, and continental breakfast or a restaurant. The average property size is 68 rooms.

The Scottish Inns name has provided travelers with a clean and consistent economy, limited service lodging option that they can identify with and "A Good Nights Sleep" since 1967. Scottish Inns typically average 42 rooms.

Many Passport Inns are smaller properties averaging 35 rooms and located in resort locations. These hotels are typically limited service facilities with budget or economy-level room rates as dictated by the local market. Passport Inns are the perfect business solution to some of the larger, unfeasible franchise fee structures.

Master Hosts Inns and Master Hosts Resorts are primarily located in resort or destination locations. They are full- service hotels that range from the mid- to upper-middle price range. The Master Hosts brand encourages hotels to preserve their own identities. These properties typically have character, warmth, charm and an independent name that they can display and market in addition to the Master Hosts flag.

Downtowner Inns and Downtowner Inns & Suites are generally limited-service facilities in city centers or downtown locations in the economy to upper economy price range. Like Passport Inns, the franchise fee structure is designed for smaller properties. The average property size is 40 rooms.
