HolidayCheck, the largest independent German-speaking travel review and booking website, has awarded the "Recommended on HolidayCheck 2021" certificate to 60 RIU Hotels & Resorts. With over 9.5 million verified reviews, user photos and videos from over 750,000 hotels worldwide, the HolidayCheck portal offers travellers extensive travel know-how. The "Recommended on HolidayCheck" certificates are awarded for the tenth consecutive year to hotels with good guest reviews and with a recommendation rate of at least 75%.

The 60 award-winning RIU hotels are located in the following countries. Spain, Portugal/Madeira, Germany, Ireland, Bulgaria, Cape Verde, Morocco, Tanzania, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Mexico, USA, Dubai, Maldives and Sri Lanka.

The criteria for winning the certificate are as follows:

  • At least 1 active review, written from the 1st of April 2020 to the 31st of March 2021
  • At least a 75% recommendation rate
    - At least to get a minimum score of 4,0 out of 6
  • No breach of the HolidayCheck Code of Conduct
