STR: U.S. hotel performance for November 2021

The U.S. hotel industry reported lower performance than the month prior but better indexed comparisons with 2019, according to November 2021 data from STR.

HENDERSONVILLE, Tennessee - The U.S. hotel industry reported lower performance than the month prior but better indexed comparisons with 2019, according to November 2021 data from STR.

November 2021 (percentage change from November 2019):

  • Occupancy: 57.6% (-6.2%)
  • Average daily rate (ADR): US$128.50 (+2.4%)
  • Revenue per available room (RevPAR): US$74.03 (-3.9%)

Among the Top 25 Markets, New York City experienced the highest occupancy level (71.2%), which was still down 17.9% from the market’s 2019 benchmark.

None of the Top 25 Markets saw an occupancy increase over October 2019.

Markets with the lowest occupancy for the month included Minneapolis (44.0%) and St. Louis (50.3%).

Oahu Island reported the steepest decline in occupancy when compared with 2019 (-34.9%).

Overall, the Top 25 Markets showed higher occupancy and ADR than all other markets.
