Hot List: Ways to travel

While destinations and accommodation are integral components of a trip, the journey can also be an experience unto itself. Trains are back in a big way, with slow travel and an increased focus on responsible tourism only gaining speed, according to CNT.

The Orient Express La Dolce Vita is certainly highly anticipated. An Italian revival of the historic and glamorous Orient Express trains, travellers can embark on several iconic itineraries across 14 regions from Rome to Paris, Istanbul and Split. Set to welcome its first passengers in 2023.

With timeworn ruins, sacred religious sites and glittering cities previously off-limits to tourists, Saudi Arabia should be on the list of places to travel to in the near future. Some soon-to-open stunning new hotels are currently under development, such as Banyan Tree AlUla and Rixos Obhur.
