Kew Green Hotels Appointed Hotel Management Company of Azembay Eco-Villa in Morocco
Kew Green Hotels, one of the leading international hotel management companies, has been appointed by Earth Holding, as the hotel management company for Azembay, the first eco-village in Morocco, North Africa. Situated just 45 minutes from Casablanca and just over an hour from Casablanca International Airport, this laid-back luxury resort is nestled within more than 1,000 hectares of forest leading to a stunning private beach.
Azembay has been built to international energy efficiency standards and integrates a 360- degree approach to sustainable development, including a circular economy of locally-made furniture and furnishings from craftspeople in the village. The vision is for Earth and Kew Green Hotels to build a new international brand, focusing on a pure play sustainable experience that will use Azembay as the pilot project and be the first to be developed globally. The brand will focus on making sustainability and well-being as the essence of a new travel experience.
The village will be autonomous both in terms of water and energy supply, and will produce its own drinking water and vegetables through a permaculture field and school. Fishing boats and an animal farm will complement this, all catering for the five restaurants in the village as well as being integrated into activities for both adults and the kid’s club. With a strong focus on well-being, the spa will be at the centre of the experience and will feature treatments using the best Moroccan organic products, including argan oil and the famous hammam and scrubbing rituals. The 360 well-being experience includes daily picnic walks, a hammock field in the forest for daily naps, healthy organic menus with a focus on balanced nutrition plus meditation, surfing and yoga classes. Activities will feature educational elements for guests to learn about leading a more autonomous and sustainable lifestyle. The resort will be car-free with green mobility including horses, mule carts, and electric vehicles. The overall experience will be welcoming and rejuvenating, which flourishes in symbiosis with the local population and nature.
