There has never been a better time than now to join one of the most dynamic and diverse sectors in the world – the UK hospitality sector. A sector that employs around three and a half million people and gives many young people their first experience of work. It is also an economic, social and cultural powerhouse, delivering opportunity, investment and social mobility across the UK as well as being one of the biggest revenue generators for the British economy.
In its latest Better Future report, Travelodge highlighted and committed to offering more employees 24+ hour contracts, providing its colleagues with greater security and predictability in working hours. This flexibility allows its team members to thrive, and is especially helpful to students and parents, offering parents to work around school run times and students the ability to transfer to a hotel closer to their hometown during the university holidays.
Travelodge is also a Disability Confident Committed employer, a Government-backed scheme which encourages employers to recruit and retain disabled people and those with health conditions.
To further support its colleagues, Travelodge’s Aspire programme allows colleagues to gain a nationally recognised qualification in hospitality funded through its apprenticeship levy. This comprehensive programme provides a clear pathway of development and career mapping for hotel and maintenance colleagues to progress from entry level roles through to Manager level. Aspire demonstrates Travelodge’s commitment to being a place where colleagues can get in and get on, irrespective of background, or educational attainment.

We offer parents flexible working hours to help them work around the school run, so they can raise their family and have a job that allows them to develop a career when the time is right for them. Students can work in a Travelodge whilst studying at University and then transfer to a different hotel when they return home in the holidays.
